Fine Arts Teacher
Dear St. Adalbert School Families,
Thank you for welcoming me into this great community. This is my 2nd year teaching at Saint Adalbert School and I simply love it! In addition to teaching art and music, I lead the School Choir and direct the Spring Musical.
I am very happy to be back in my hometown of South Bend, Indiana where I can be closer to my father and my two wonderful grown sons. My older son Andrew is working for U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington D.C. My younger son Danny is earning his Master’s in Public Health in Asheville, North Carolina while planning his June wedding with his lovely fiancee, Chanel.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Minnesota. I studied and taught in Europe for 2 years and then settled in Seattle, Washington. In Seattle, I had the pleasure of teaching K-8 Music, Choir and Drama for 15 years in a Catholic School. I then founded a Children’s Musical Theatre Company and served as Artistic/Musical Director for over a decade. While running the children’s theatre, I earned my Kodaly/Orff Music certification and continued my studies in classical voice and flute.
My goal in teaching Visual and Performing Arts at St. Adalbert School is to inspire students with a life-long passion for the Arts. I strive to prepare each student with a solid foundation in music and art by teaching basic skills and a global/historical overview in these subjects.
When I’m not at school, you can find me spending time with my family, singing opera, reading, hiking, doing yoga, and/or traveling.
